Summary

SK-17 upgrade is the final stage of the integrated program to increase the production scope at Balakovo plant.

After commissioning the plant became of the largest sulphur acid producers in Russia. The design output power is 900 thousand tons, and according to the company’s specialists it is not the limit.
Currently the company is defining the optimal loads and then the plant most likely will be able to produce up to 1 mln tons of product per year.

Execution of «turnkey» set of works:

  • Technical upgrade of the SAO SK‑17 drying and absorbing section, SK‑17 air blowers, installation of a new RKS‑135/4.0‑440 boiler, extruding elements, gas heat exchangers with gas ducts and process pipelines binding and dismantling of the old equipment.
  • Design, installation, start-up and commissioning, construction works on energy farms (6 kV distribution device DD-73, 10 kV DD-73, transformer substation TS-78), 0.4 kV control room CSP-14 and distribution device and transformer substation (6 kV DD-23, TS-71).
