In the course of contracting works UNIVERSAL ELECTRIC implements various types of EPC/EPCM contracts, taking into account the Customer's interests and the specifics of the task to the maximum extent possible.

Challenging climatic conditions in the Karelian taiga, along with the lack of roads and infrastructure constraints, did not hinder the outcome – the project was successfully completed on schedule, and the SHPPs were commissioned in December 2019.

About the project

The project was the first Russian project of the New Development Bank by BRICS, implemented with the participation of representatives of the international banking sector, major foreign and Russian investment funds, Russian and Chinese engineering and construction corporations, as well as representatives of federal ministries of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Karelia.

The Beloporozhsk  HPPs construction project, the main purpose of which is to supply electricity to the population and industrial enterprises, was included in the list of priority projects of the Federal Target Program "Development of the Republic of Karelia until 2020".

Works performed

As part of the first stage of the comprehensive project, UNIVERSAL ELECTRIC carried out a cycle of construction and installation works for the erection of the 220 kV outdoor Switchgear (OSG) "Bely Porog" and the 220 kVTransmission Line (TL) to connect the Small Hydropower Plants (SHPPs) "Beloporozhsk HPP-1" and "HES-2" with a total capacity of 49.8 MW to the grids of FGC UES PJSC.

To implement the project, we created a local separate division of the company, staffed with qualified specialists and equipped with specialized machinery and equipment.

The modernization of the unit allowed to increase sulfuric acid production capacity by 1.5 times — up to 900 thousand tons per year, against 600 thousand tons before the modernization.

About the project

In the period 2017‑2019, UNIVERSAL ELECTRIC performed a full range of turnkey works on the reconstruction and technical re‑equipment of sulphuric acid production at the Balakovo branch of PhosAgro JSC.

Work Package

Designing, equipment supply, dismantling works and construction and installation works, commissioning and start-up works, commissioning of the facility.
As part of the project implementation, the SK‑17 production complex underwent a full technical re-equipment, including the dismantling of obsolete equipment, along with the design, construction, and commissioning of associated energy facilities:

  • Power center (6 kV RP‑73, 10 kV RP‑73, TP‑78);
  • Switchgear and transformer substation (RP‑23 6 kV, TP‑71);
  • Panel SchSU‑14 0.4 kV

The transfer of service functions to UNIVERSAL ELECTRIC's qualified specialists and the use of modern digital solutions have led to a significant reduction in the Customer's service costs, thanks to the efficient use of resources, increased reliability and reduced downtime.

PhosAgro‑Cherepovets is Europe's largest producer of phosphate-based fertilizers, phosphoric and sulphuric acids, and one of the leading producers of NPK fertilizers, ammonia and ammonium nitrate among Russian chemical companies.

Work Package

Since 2014, UNIVERSAL ELECTRIC has been providing comprehensive maintenance of electrical equipment at PhosAgro‑Cherepovets JSC.
In the course of works our specialists use modern effective service technologies and diagnostic equipment.

Since 2022, the company has been successfully piloting the FORRA™ digital platform, an original proprietary development of Expert Universal, which implements specialized IT‑solutions for industry and business in our group.
