GS‑2 of Kirovsky Mine is an exceptionally complex engineering underground crushing facility and the pithead complex. It is designed for a winding engine, electrical and other equipment for transferring skips and cages within the conveyance shaft to extract ore from the underground mine approximately 350 meters deep.

Implemented design solutions
  • PS — power supply.
  • EM — electrical machines and mechanisms.
  • EM1 — electrical equipment of the winding skip engine (works were carried out in collaboration with the installation supervisor company of «INCO engineering s.r.o.», Czech Republic).
  • EL — electric lighting.
  • EL1 — warning lights.
  • IA — integrated automation.

Investments to construction of GS‑2 facilities exceeded 13 bln rubles.
Advanced materials and equipment were used in the project, significantly reducing the costs of electrical power and other power sources.

Commissioning of GS‑2 facility with the design power of 8 mln tons of ore per year made it possible to replace the retiring resources and to increase Kirovsky mine extraction volume from 13 to 16.5 mln tons of apatite-nepheline ore per year.
